Hamilton Watch Company was founded in Lancaster Pennsylvania in 1892. Initial fame for the Hamilton watches came when the railroad industry turned to Hamilton to put an end to the frequent crashes of the locomotives. Since then, Hamilton watches were incorporated as part of the American history. Hamilton watches were recognized as the official watches for the many of the early airlines. Then came the 1940s when Hamilton created the exclusive timepieces for the military.

Close to one million Hamilton watches produced for the military. In 1957, Hamilton introduced the first electric watch with the release of the Hamilton Ventura watch. Once again, Hamilton shocks the world in 1972 when the first digital watch was released.

Hamilton watches are now produced in Switzerland. With the American birth integrated with the Swiss quality, the Hamilton brand continues to carry on the tradition. Most recently, the Hamilton watches were featured in the MIB movie, proving that the tradition continues.
